Смрадно дыхание Болота -
Старого Леса ловушки.
Мхом укрываются хляби,
Пряча собой Тень веков.
В лунном серебряном свете
Забредшего путника взора
Чураются твари Болота:
Кикиморы, жабы и блазни.
Жутко стонет Болото -
Темного Леса Ловушка,
Приветствует Господина,
Князя Трясин и Топей.
Черный кафтан из тины,
Желтый огонь в глазницах,
Давно Он не слышал шага
Людей на своем Болоте.
Усталость смыкает веки -
У путника путь был не близок.
Кикиморы сны ему грезят
И ложе из мягкого мха.
Своей безопасностью манят
Пропахшие прелостью дупла
В телах Дубов-великанов,
Оставшихся чуть позади.
Но путник рукою своею
Сладкие грезы отводит,
Ступает вперед на Болота
Уставшей своею ногою.
Но сизою дымкой Тумана
Скрыты от глаз любопытных
Смертельные Топи Болота -
Мудрого Леса ловушки.
