MUNRUTHEL is a one-man band driven by Vladislav "Munruthel" Redkin. Started in 1988 under name SILENTIUM, project was
renamed to the author's pseudonym MUNRUTHEL in 1997.
Project drifted from the Dark Ambient in the early works into majestic Symphonic Pagan Metal as it is known nowadays after releases of two recent albums "Epoch of Aquarius" (2006) and "CREEDamage" (2012).

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!!

These musicians know how to drive music straight to the heart. Black metal is more than a cold premise for refined guitar work and multiple changes inside each song. Lyrics too are incredibly inspired and matching with music. Marrasmieli is a newborn flower, still covered by dew's brightness. Aallot is in particular a lesson of emotional crescendo, especially in second half of the song but in general, all the tracklist remains on the peak of the best inspiration. Best of luck to them!
